vs. Hard storage.
People think technology is advanced and therefore not prone to errors.
This is a very bad assumption to make. Unlike a piece of paper with
your financial information, magnetic bits of data stored on a hard
drive or usb drive can "disappear" into thin air! Just like that
everything is gone! Often the information is gone for good. In some
cases, data can be recovered. Devices can be taken apart or rebuilt and
if the actually media is not damaged, it may be possible to recover the
data that was stored on the device. |
